Almost every weekend, you can find me either riding with my horse trainer or showing my horse at American Quarter Horse Association and National Reining Horse Association shows. I also enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, photography and spending quality time with my family and friends.
I was born and raised on a ranch in Livermore, CA, attending elementary, middle and high school in town. I was fortunate to be able to own, ride and show horses, where I learned the responsibilities of raising animals. I had the amazing opportunity to show my horses up and down the state where I met some of the most wonderful people in the world; we are still friends to this day!
After high school, I headed to Fresno State to become an Animal Science Major. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship and ride for the only NCAA Division 1 Equestrian Team on the West Coast! While on the team, I got to travel to different parts of the state and country to ride as a varsity member. During this time, I earned my varsity letter and was awarded the Kiwanis Torch of Excellence. After college, I worked for a few Agriculture Corporations and for the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District. My job for the LARPD was a Police Athletics/Activities Leagues leader and this is how I became involved with kids and decided to become a High School Teacher. For 18 years, I have been a Health, PE &/or Intro To Agriculture Teacher at Freedom, where I enjoy my job and coming to work every day.
