Dear Liberty Union HS District Community,

As we close another successful school year, I reflect with gratitude on the accomplishments of our students, staff, and community. This year has been marked by commitment, growth, and strong achievement across academics, athletics, and student opportunities.

This final quarter brought much to celebrate. Liberty High School was recognized as a California Distinguished School for its significant growth in English Learner achievement. Freedom High School’s Construction Academy earned an impressive 4th place at the State Championships, and Liberty’s TLC Academy achieved Lighthouse status, now serving as a mentor program for academies across California. Heritage High School showcased remarkable student talent through its annual Culinary Showcase, where students prepared an outstanding seven-course meal for families and community members, as well as its Art Showcase at the Brentwood Community Center. Freedom High School also hosted their first ever Creaticon celebrating the visual and performing arts as well as a vibrant Cinco de Mayo celebration featuring student performances, including dancers and live music, highlighting the richness of its school culture.

Our students also demonstrated strong academic dedication, with more than 2,400 students participating in Advanced Placement exams across 25 subjects, reflecting expanded access and a continued focus on college and career readiness. In addition, our community generously awarded more than $260,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors across our five sites. It is inspiring to see so many seniors recognized for their academic achievement, character, and determination as they take their next steps.

Spring athletics brought impressive success across the district. Liberty athletes and teams earned league titles, NCS advancement, and a State Meet return, while Heritage captured four BVAL titles and advanced all spring teams to NCS play. Freedom celebrated multiple playoff berths and a CIF State Championship by its cheer stunt team.

In May, the Unified Prom provided a memorable and inclusive experience for students in our Life Skills and Gateway programs. Through partnerships with Brentwood PAL, the Brentwood Police Department, and dedicated volunteers, students were celebrated in a joyful evening that reflected the strength of our community.

These accomplishments reflect the dedication, teamwork, and strong support systems provided by our staff, families, and community. As we celebrate the successes of this year, I extend my sincere appreciation to our teachers, support staff, administrators, bus drivers, and all who serve our students each day. We are equally grateful to our families and community partners, whose support remains essential to our success.

I also want to acknowledge the two Heritage High School students injured in the recent chemistry accident; our thoughts remain with them and their families, and we wish them continued healing.

To our graduating seniors and their families, congratulations. You leave with a legacy of determination, compassion, and achievement, and we look forward to all you will accomplish.
