The fall 26-27 REGISTRATION steps outlined below apply to current LUHSD students AND students enrolled in the following feeder schools: 
 

All students are required to complete the REGISTRATION process prior to the start of the school year.  Current LUHSD and students at feeder districts MUST do the 26-27 Registration Process including these three separate steps: 

1. Incoming 9th grade students must turn in their Course Request Cards to their current middle school by specified DUE DATE.  

2. ALL incoming 9th grade STUDENTS must have their Registration completed through Aeries beginning March 2, 2026 and prior to doing their residency verification.
   
   **NEW PROCESS**
   New LUHSD Aeries portal account will be sent to parent’s email address provided by the feeder district.

   Documents needed to be uploaded in Aeries for Registration:

   • Enrolling Parent/Guardian Picture ID 

   • Copy of Birth Certificate

   • Residency Requirements
   • Immunization Records - (more info here)
   • Copy of most recent IEP or 504 (if applicable)
   • Check Out papers from previous school (if applicable)
      

3. Incoming 9th GRADERS must complete Residency Verification in-person at their high school site. 
    

   Freedom- April 9, 2026  4PM to 8PM

   Heritage- April 21, 2026  3:30 PM to 7PM

   Liberty-  March 17,18 & 24,25, 2026

    

*Students 10-12 who have moved MUST complete in-person residency verification at their assigned school site.  
ALL of these items should take place following the timeline. Students must complete these items prior to participating in their site walk-thru or receiving their schedule.  
Students NEW to LUHSD & NOT enrolled in our partner districts:  
Students who are new to the district and did NOT attend one of the schools listed as of January 2026 MUST complete the New Student Enrollment process instead. DO NOT COMPLETE “NEW STUDENT” ENROLLMENT if you are a current LUHSD student or attend one of our feeder schools listed.   

New student enrollment is the process for families of new students to enter the district boundaries.  Please note that new student enrollment DOES NOT apply to resident students who were enrolled in our feeder school districts in 8th grade.

Resident students who attended the following school may complete the Registration 9th From Feeder Districts and Residency Verification process instead:

Interdistrict Transfer Students- STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE LUHSD DISTRICT BOUNDARIES 

Intra Transfer Students- STUDENTS WITHIN OUR DISTRICT WANTING TO GO TO A DIFFERENT SCHOOL (ex: assigned to Heritage wanting to go to Freedom) 

All documents submitted must be originals not copies.  Photocopies of documents presented will be taken and added to the student record.  
To establish student(s) residence, the parent/legal guardian must supply a valid photo ID and two (2) types of documentation (ONE from each group below showing name and residence address): 

NOTE: If you cannot supply one item from each group above, contact the school site registrar.

The District has no desire to see personal information such as amount of earnings, taxes or social security numbers. It is preferred that such items be inked out.     

Residency Verification:  All residency verification is subject to review. This may include background screening, home visits by district staff and the use of a private investigator in accordance with board policy.  

Caregiver Affidavits: Students shall qualify as district residents if they reside full-time in the home of a caregiving adult within the district boundaries. This caregiving adult must provide residency verification as outlined above.  “Full Time” for the purposes of this regulation is defined as: Student’s primary residence is that of the caregiving adult, and the student resides in the home of the caregiving adult 24 hours a day, seven days a week and during periods of vacation and/or holidays. 

Joint Physical Custody: Students whose parents have joint physical custody may continue their enrollment in the district so long as at least one of their parents can meet the residency verification requirements as outlined above.  Students will be enrolled providing they spent the majority of the week residing within district boundaries.  

Parents and Guardians are required to read and sign the following statement: 

“I attest that the information provided is true and accurate. I understand that if the student is not living full-time within the school boundary or if the student’s arrangements do not agree with the information provided, the student will not be allowed to attend the school. I also understand that any changes in residency information must be reported to the school registrar immediately and verified within ten (10) days. I also understand that falsification of information will be grounds for invalidating the student’s enrollment in school.”
